Like all my previous collections, I like to approach my initial idea from an abstract perspective and let that guide me throughout the creative journey. This allows me to work freely and have control to connect every story and idea, and piece them together to tell a beautiful story. The inspiration for my CREATE 2024 Collection is that of UNIT, COMMUNICATION AND BEING FREE. Free to evolve and transition like a beautiful butterfly.
Unit: In this unit, we connect with things, people, cultures, and attractions.
COMMUNICATION: it is the key to moving forward, exploring, developing, and trying new things. This is what I would love my customers to do. Please don’t be too afraid or unsure to try new things when it comes to fashion, especially when it has to do with colours, volume, or texture. Fashion and style are fun, so live it!
The Japanese street-style fashion/entertainment/anime industry has always inspired me. Together, I have borrowed from these inspirations and infused them with my African likeness for prints, colours, textures, and the fearlessness of exploration and expression to communicate this beautifully crafted contemporary and innovative collection with a free- flow simplicity without losing its DNA. The story of a modern woman balancing her life as a daughter, sister, wife, a single mother, aunty, or a single lady is the sauce and juice that ignites my imagination. I designed for her to make her feel more beautiful, confident, and comfortable.
Fabric Used and Care: 100% cotton, 100% Irish Tweed, 100% Irish Vintage Tweed, and Recycled Mesh. Dry clean only or wash on lowest home wash machine settings, and do not machine dry/tumble dry.
